Renowned Imam of Darul Ummah Passes Away

The Janāzah of Shaykh Abu Ahmed Hifzur Rahman will be held on Monday, 11th December 2023, following Zuhr Salah (1 PM) at Darul Ummah Masjid.

 

This morning, the Islamic community mourns the loss of Shaykh Abu Ahmed Hifzur Rahman, who peacefully passed away in the early hours of Sunday, 10th December, 2023. The respected Imam dedicated 17 years of his life serving at Darul Ummah London.

 

In a statement released by the family, they expressed their grief and gratitude, stating,

The eyes weep and the hearts mourn but the tongue does not utter except that which pleases Allāh. Indeed from Allāh we come and to Him we return.”

The family continued,

Alhamdulillah our dearest father Abu Ahmed Hifzur Rahman passed away today peacefully on the 10th of December 2023 at 00:00 in the presence of his beloved family. All we’re left with are beautiful memories and teachings.”

Shaykh Abu Ahmed Hifzur Rahman was initially admitted to the Royal London Hospital following a heart attack.

Subsequent medical examinations unveiled that he was battling other viruses alongside a COVID infection. Despite these challenges, the Imam maintained a steadfast spirit until his final moments.

The family invoked a Quranic verse, stating:

“إن الله ما أخذ، وله ما أعطى، وكل شيء عنده بأجل مسمى، فلتصبر ولتحتسب”

(Whatever Allāh takes away or gives belongs to Him, and everything with Him has a limited fixed term (in this world), and so we should be patient and anticipate Allāh’s reward).

The community prepares to bid farewell to a devoted leader.

Shaykh Abu Ahmed Hifzur Rahman’s legacy of dedication to the Qur’an and selfless service will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched throughout his years of service.
